NOTE: These directions apply to the 8.0 versions of:

This patch will not work with other Agilent VEE versions than 8.0.

Instructions

  1. Exit Agilent VEE and close any Agilent VEE help window that may be opened. If you have the Agilent VEE Service Manager running, exit it also.
  2. Copy or download the patch program to your computer.
  3. Execute the patch program to update the 8.0 version of Agilent VEE to version 8.01.
  4. If you have installed more than one product of Agilent VEE 8.0 (Agilent VEE Pro 8.0, Agilent VEE Express 8.0 or Agilent VEE Runtime 8.0), we strongly recommend that you install patches for all installed Agilent VEE products.

Defects fixed in Agilent VEE  8.01 update 

A note on the "minidump" feature: Since Agilent VEE 7.0, we introduced a debugging feature called the minidump. If you encounter a VEE Serious Error (VSE) in Agilent VEE 7.0 or later version, you will be offered an opportunity to send Agilent a minidump, a file that contains information that can be very useful in helping Agilent VEE R&D determine the cause of the VSE so that we can fix it.

The minidump dialog also has data fields for your name and email address, so that we can contact you if we need more information or have ideas to help you with the problem. When you send a minidump to us, please consider providing this information. 

If you are concerned about the privacy of your data when sending a mini-dump, please click the Help button on the minidump dialog to see what Agilent VEE puts into the minidump file and how we intend to use it.

Minidumps have helped us locate and correct numerous VEE defects since Agilent VEE 7.0 was introduced.

Defect numbers marked in blue in the list below were detected or corrected with the aid of minidumps. Please help us improve Agilent VEE by sending us your minidumps with your name and email address.

For defect 28687: we provide separate Association files VeerunVeeFileAssoc.reg and VeerunVxeFileAssoc.reg.

28772 Agilent VEE Express cannot load IO related programs which developed in Agilent VEE Pro and saved without embedded IO configuration.
28719 VSE: when Double Byte Character Set is used in assembly/COM information, Watch Window, or VEE object's description.
28762 
 VSE: when VEE imports libraries referencing different versions of .NET frameworks.
28763 In Japanese Environment, VEE cannot deal with Plug&Play drivers which have space in their function's parameter name.
28768 VSE: when exiting VEE programs which contain a .Net event handle that calls an existing userfunction.

 If a double byte character set is used, characters in that set will appear twice in Formula box.
28714 Error 433: when loading VEE programs containing a Record that has a field with type of array of coord.
28760 VSE: Class PixmapView does not recognize selector contextContaining:size:willModify:
28745 Agilent VEE 8 can not run on Windows 2000 SP4 without Windows patch KB891861 (Update Rollup 1 for Windows 2000 SP4).
28687  File Association for VEE Runtime is incorrect.
28700 Can't change constant value by programmatic property if the constant is owned by the input focus.
28765 VSE: when using Create UserFunction (Edit=>Create UserFunction...) to create a userfunction with the same name as a global variable and then opening a new VEE program.
28727 If an object's visibility is set to false in design time, it will disappear from panel view after running.
28729 Cannot convert elements of an automation variant Array to VEE data type properly in ExecMode 6+ if the element is an Array.
28780 Board Number of an instrument is limited within single digit ( from 0 to 9).
28799 Agilent VEE Express cannot find instruments if NI VISA is installed as primary VISA.
